芝加哥供應管理學會(ISM)30日公佈9月份芝加哥採購經理人指數(PMI)創4個月新高，由前月的53上揚2.7至55.7，優於彭博社調查預估的54。

製造業在美國GDP所占比重為12%，PMI指數若高於榮枯點50，代表製造業景氣呈現擴張，反之則為衰退。連同9月在內，PMI指數已連續5個月高於榮枯分水嶺，意味著製造業下半年將持續為美國經濟復甦挹注動能。

當月分項數據表現較突出的有，生產指數升至58，為5月以來新高；新接訂單指數升至58.9，創2月以來新高。另外，就業指數由54.9下滑至53.2，則為5個月新低。
